We use a combination of teleconference combined with a live interactive Online program Webex. Webex allows for power points presentation, real time whiteboarding, the ability to raise your hand, for the trainer to poll the group, and several other useful functions that enhance the online learners experience.

The philosophy of Christian Solution-Focused Coaching:

  • People already have all the resources they need. Philippians 4:13 "You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you."
  • It is positive and solution focused, not problem oriented: Philippians 4:8 "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things."
  • It is future oriented: Isaiah 43:18-19 "Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.
  • The map is not the territory: Proverbs 23:7 "For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he."
  • There is no failure, only feedback: Phil. 3:13 "Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead."
  • I am in charge of my mind, and therefore my results: Romans 12:2 "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect."

Module 5 "Integration and Mastery" is an optional interactive distance learning course for those seeking to receive credentialing directly from the International Coaching Federation as completion of the Accredited Coach Training Program requirements.

The Art and Science of Coaching; A Transformational Christian Program is a unique course designed for professionals, pastoral and lay persons who want to assist others in developing their own God given talents, strengths, gifts, and vision. The course is taught from a Judeo-Christian Worldview, taking into account the Ministry of the Holy Spirit, Biblical Truth, and God's Redemptive Plan.

The Art and Science of Coaching; A Transformational Christian Program is a 16-day accelerated learning program that gives participants an experience of being a great Coach, and the skills and resources to launch a Coaching practice or integrate Coaching into ministry or business.

The Art & Science of Coaching, a Transformational Christian Program consists of a 16-Day Program offered in two formats. Module 1 and 2 are offered online, and Modules 3 and 4 are offered in-person training. Module 5 begins once Module 4 is complete and takes place over the phone. It is the final stage of completion towards the ICF-ACTP requirements.

The International Coach Federation has accredited this program at the highest level: Accredited Coach Training Program. Completion of Modules 1-5 fulfills all the requirements for attaining the second level of Coach Accreditation with the ICF; Professional Certified Coach. The entire course includes 125 Hours of training, 6 Mentor Coaching Sessions, and ICF competency testing. Here is a detailed explanation of the Certification and Accreditation levels and processes, and how The Art and Science of Coaching, a Transformational Christian Program (TASC) fits into that structure.

The International Coaching Federation, the largest Coaching body in the world has three levels of Accrediting; Associate Certified Coach (ACC), Professional Certified Coach (PCC), and Master Certified Coach (MCC). TASC is an Accredited Coach Training Program (ACTP) and includes:

  • A minimum of 125 hours of coach-specific training.
  • A minimum of 6 observed-coaching sessions with an experienced coach.
  • A comprehensive final exam that evaluates a student's coaching competency.
  • Certified graduates the opportunity to apply for an ICF credential using the ACC, PCC or MCC ACTP graduate application
ACTP is the highest level of Accreditation and TASC includes everything you need to become Accredited with the ICF except for the actual coaching hours required by the ICF.

Modules 3 and 4 are the in person trainings that fulfill the remaining hours needed to reach the 125 hours required by the ICF. These two modules are 4 days in length and is a combination of explanation, demonstration, and hands-on exercises. Completion of Modules 1-4 earns you the qualification of "Certified Professional Coach" from Erickson College International (different than Professional Certified Coach from the ICF). For many coaches this level of training is sufficient to build a coaching practice, or use coaching within their existing business, or ministry. The investment for Modules 3-4 is $1,900 USD.

Module 5 is an optional 12 week telecourse, 6 mentor coaching sessions, and the comprehensive final exam. The telecourse is a weekly call focused on refining, mastering, and integrating the course material to enhance your abilities, and prepare you for the exam. The investment for Module 5 is $2,660 USD. This is a real bargain; I recently spoke with a graduate of an ACSTH course who paid $3,000 USD just for 6 mentor coaching sessions, and the examination! Completion of Module 5 earns you the qualification of Erickson Certified Professional Coach, and once you have the required number of coaching hours as required by the ICF; 100 for ACC, 750 for PCC, MCC is currently being reassessed, you will have everything you need for becoming Accredited by the ICF.
